Cajun Spice Tilapia Fillets

This recipe is clean, simple, and uncomplicated. It’s perfect for those regular days when you just want something straightforward yet yummy for dinner.

Tilapia is a great seafood choice as it contains heart-healthy fatty acids and is readily available both fresh and frozen. We made a classic crust with flour and our smoky, savory Olive Oil Roasted Almonds. The fish gets a slightly crunchy, wonderful crust from cooking in just minutes in a hot skillet.

Serve these family-friendly fillets with your fave side dishes—it’s very versatile. Warm rice, pasta, or a green salad would all work to make it a complete meal.

  • 1 cup Olive Oil Roasted Almonds
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon fave spice mix (we used Cajun)
  • Sea salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 4 (4- to 5-ounce) tilapia fillets
  • 2 tablespoons Arbequina Olive Oil
  • ¼ cup finely chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
  • 1 large lemon, cut into wedges, for serving

  1. Place almonds in a food processor; pulse until finely ground. Add flour and spice mix; pulse until combined. Transfer to a large bowl.
  2. Season tilapia fillets on both sides with salt and pepper. Place into almond mixture and coat on all sides, shaking off excess.
  3. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Add fillets to skillet, cooking one or two at a time. Cook 4 minutes per side, until slightly blackened and flaky. Transfer to a serving plate; repeat with remaining fillets.
  4. To serve, top with parsley and lemon wedges.

Notes: Makes 4 servings.
