Holiday Entertaining Guide

If you’re entertaining a holiday party at your house this season, we’ve got the guide to help make sure your even is a smashing success. From what to serve to how to decorate, we’ve got just the tips you need to make your holiday party a celebration.

The guests.

Make your guests feel right at home! Individualizing their seats at the table is a decorative and thoughtful way to give everyone attention for the night. Set handmade name cards at each seat, and prepare a tiny take-home gift baggie for each guest that will await them at their seat. Decorative cheese knives and hors d’oeuvres utensils make for adorable culinary gifts—or better yet, buy one or two of our sample olive oil sets, and give each guests a mini olive oil bottle to take home!

The food.

Have a balanced menu of snacks, sweets, and meats. Your guests will be thankful for the array of flavors and dishes you’ve given them, and the healthy variety will ensure a long-lasting party for everyone. Start things off with appetizers like Grilled Herb Shrimp and Olive Oil Cranberry Pancakes (roll the pancakes with toothpicks for blintz-like appetizers!), along with a giant bowl of Holiday Spiced Nuts.  For a stand-along entrée, you’ve got to try the Pistachio Crusted Rack of Lamb—talk about celebrating in decadence! And individual ramekins of Dark Chocolate Mousse will round out the evening’s feast with hand-held desserts that travel well around the party floor.

The table.

A gracious host can’t forget to decorate in style—and even the table must look like it’s part of the celebration! Dipping and serving bowls will be the perfect home to your Holiday Spiced Nuts, and you’ll be showcasing your finest oils and vinegars in stunning handmade cruets. Aren’t your guests impressed! Finish the table off with jars of tapenades and condiments to keep the noshing at an even pace all evening.

Don’t forget the cake.

Save a cake or two in the pantry as a post-midnight surprise for your guests. It’s sure to kick up any late night lull in the party, and it will revamp everyone’s spirits (and sugar highs!) in no time at all. Try our Olive Oil Citrus Cake with a dusting of powdered sugar for the ultimate holiday cake.
