We have just released more than a few new flavors of balsamic vinegar and my mouth is watering just thinking about them! Not only did we release two new flavors in our own line of balsamics, but we have 5 new flavors from some of our favorite partners! Where do I begin?
Let’s start with our own new flavors: Coconut and Cranberry! The coconut is PERFECT for those coconut lovers, and wonderful in holiday desserts. One of our favorite dishes is to whisk this balsamic with whipped cream, or even marscapone for a pie topper. And Cranberry? Well, Cranberry is clearly perfect for this time of year whether you’re drizzling over a holiday cheese plate, or whisking with our Winter Blend Extra Virgin Olive Oil for the perfect side salad dressing.
Now onto some of our favorite partners and the wonderful balsamics they have to offer! Sesto Senso is a fabulous balsamic vinegar producer in Modena Italy, providing top notch, aged balsamic vinegar just as it should be. We have 3 of their products available, the Taste, the Fusion, and the Chef. Now here’s the breakdown…
Taste: IGP certified extra old maturation, refined in oak barrels, with special composition of “Trebbiano” grapes must, for a sweet and cleartaste.
Fusion: Extraordinary fusion between the old and the young. It is composed by extra old IGP balsamic vinegar and grape must, with a sweet-and-sour and intense taste, with delicate fruity fragrances.
Chef: Perfect fusion of selected grapes musts (Lambrusco, Sangiovese, Trebbiano) refined in different wooden barrels, with a “younger” ageing, maintaining the same taste and aroma tones of the older must.
Last but certainly not least, we have some delicious balsamics from a local California producer, Enfuso. These are called reductions as they are reduced with fruit pulp and natural flavor, available at The Olive Press in Lychee Passion Fruit, and Espresso. That’s right, Espresso! This is perfect drizzled over ice cream for a unique Affogato, or even better, over ice cream on chocolate cake! Yum! The Lychee Passion Fruit is sweet and tart, perfect with Jalapeno Olive Oil in a zesty salad with cilantro and avocado, or in a baked fish dish.
Now we truly have something for everyone, enjoy!
