It’s kind of hard to believe, but the 2010/2011 Sonoma Olive Season has sadly reached its end! After about 3 months of harvesting, milling, feasting, sampling, partying, and celebrating all things olives with our local community, we’ve just closed the book on yet another olive festival season. We can’t be too sad, though, since olive season goes on forever here at The Olive Press.
Olive Odyssey took place on 2/19 and 2/20 to celebrate the closing of the Olive Season—and what a celebration it was! Despite the spattering of rain that came down on Saturday, the turnout was awesome. Held inside the adjoining Jacuzzi Family Vineyards, we were so happy to partner in the fun and festivities.
Our new Balsamics were a big hit for guests. Not a terrible surprise, as we’re still crazy about these new blends—Strawberry, Fig, and Black Currant, oh my! Our in-house mixologists had a blast serving up delicious fruity tasters for folks at our tasting bar.
And outside, the courtyard bustled with people enjoying the speakers and samples that carried on throughout the afternoon. Home cured olive recipes and secrets, artisanal cheese, olive oil-popped popcorn, all big hits.
Thanks to everyone that made it out for Olive Odyssey this past weekend. And here’s to celebrating olive season throughout the year!
