Are you a home cook looking to learn more about olive oil tasting, history, and chemistry? Maybe you’re an amateur chef or foodie looking to enhance your culinary smarts. Or maybe you’re a small olive grower or enthusiast. However you cut it, if olive oil is a part of your daily life, this class could be for you.
Hosted on Friday, August 19th by our friends from the UC Davis Olive Center, the Olive Oil Sensory Evaluation Class is an in-depth introduction to olive oil tasting, coming directly from the experts. Taught by olive oil tasters Alexandra Kicenik Devarenne and Sandy Sonnenfelt, the day will be split into two seminars: the first focusing on tasting techniques, vocabulary, and olive oil attributes; and the second exploring both California and international olive varietals.
You’ll come away from the day having tasted olive oils across the gamut, gaining a new perspective of flavor profiles and proper olive oil selection. Guaranteed to be a delicious learning experience for all.
