By this point, you probably have a few solid bottles of your fave olive oils stocked up in the pantry, alongside a balsamic vinegar or two, and maybe a couple of infused dipping oils. Good for you, you’re keeping your oils safe and happy in the cupboard. But what do you do when you’re having a special meal, perhaps entertaining the parents for dinner, or hosting a potluck with the neighborhood crew? The regular olive oil bottles sure contain the yummy stuff, but they don’t look the prettiest. Sounds like you could use a cruet.
Cruets are one of our fave kitchen accessories. They are blown-glass bottles meant for displaying small amounts of oil and vinegar at the dining table, and they are gorgeous enough for even the fairest dining affairs. If you don’t have any cruets in your kitchen yet, you’ve got to check out our collection—they range in shapes from grapes on a vine to chemistry-inspired test tube to the classic rounded cruet.
By far, our most popular cruet set is the dachshund duo. These adorable glass cruets are mouth-blown into the shape of elongated dachshund dogs, and they are amazing on any dining table, casual or elegant. Measured at 16 inches long and 3 inches high, they are the perfect size for a few meals’ worth of oil and vinegar, and they looks sensational when filled with contrasting yellow oil and black vinegar. One look at these orphan dachshund cruets, and you’ll undoubtedly want to take a few home for yourself.
And don’t forget to check out the Misto Olive Oil Sprayers, which are a must-have for any baker and home cook. Rather than use the store-bought “cooking sprays” for roasting pans, muffin tins, and light greasing, get the job done with real olive oil. Just fill the spray bottle with your real olive oil, and mist away for perfect roasted veggies or cranberry muffins.
