World-wide accolades continue to pour in for The Olive Press, Sonoma County’s oldest and most prestigious producer of artisan olive oils and balsamic vinegars. The latest recognition: landing a spot in the Top Ten at Terra Olivo, Israel’s International Olive Oil Competition and nine Gold Medals, including:
1 Gran Prestige Gold;
3 Prestige Golds;
5 Gold Medals.
“We are truly honored,” said Nancy Cline, owner of The Olive Press. “We recognize what it means to earn such high praise from venerable olive oil producing nations.”
It’s been a record breaking year for The Olive Press in terms of awards. So far in 2014, a total of 66 medals have been awarded, including a stunning Best of Class award at the New York International Olive Oil Competition, which brings the number of awards for the small Sonoma producer to a total of 305. As it did with wine in the 1970s, California is standing shoulder to shoulder with nations boasting ancient oil-making traditions. The Olive Press is a large part of that new status.
Nancy and Fred Cline purchased The Olive Press Spring of 2013 and have been able to achieve outstanding quality in a small batch process, and added invaluable nuances along the way. Attention to detail, impeccable farming practices and the brand new Pieralisi Olive Oil Mill make the superior extra virgin and citrus olive oils possible.
