The Olive Press ceremoniously concludes the 2015 awards season with two Prestige Gold Medals from Israel’s International Olive Oil Competition, Terra Olivo. Mission Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Lime Olive Oil both took the Gold for this show, among many others this season.
2015 brought 81 medals to The Olive Press, including Best of Show at the Inaugural California State Fair Olive Oil Competition, a Good Food Award, three oils on the list of the Best Olive Oils in the World from the New York International Olive Oil Competition, four Best of Show and five Best of Class at various California competitions, a Gold Medal in Italy and 30 other Gold Medals.
“The Olive Press wins more and more awards each year, and we couldn't be more thrilled,” says owner, Nancy Cline, "This was a rough year for the olive oil industry, between olive oil shortages over seas, fruit fly infestations in California and the general hardship agriculture is experiencing with the draught. We're humbled and honored to win these awards and represent the growing and thriving California Olive Oil Industry."
The Olive Press is thrilled with the outcome of the 2014 harvest, and while they are celebrating the success, forecasting this year’s harvest and preventing fruit fly damage is on the forefront of their minds. Their Master Miller, Pepe Chavez, is hitting the groves early this summer ensuring quality olives are being grown and the right steps are taken for another successful year.
The Olive Press now holds 386 Medals since 2001, continuing as the most highly awarded olive oil producer in the nation and can’t wait to see what this next harvest will bring.
