Grilled Chipotle Shrimp Skewers

We’re actually in disbelief at how good this came out. We just tossed raw shrimp in our new grilling sauce (the Smoky Chipotle variety) and let it marinate for a half hour. Then five minutes on the grill and boom! they were done. The shrimp were some of the best we’ve ever tasted, and there wasn’t anything—not even salt or pepper—added to them besides this grilling sauce. It packs all the flavor you need. Even we were impressed with the result!

Straight out of the jay, you may find the Smoky Chipotle to be too spicy for your palate. If you’re a heat-lover, you’ll want to slather this sauce all over your burgers, sandwiches, and veggies. But for the rest of you, no sweat (literally!)—the heat really burns off once you cook the skewers, and the flavor you’re left with is sweet, smoky, and just a bit spicy. This is probably going to be our one-stop grilling sauce for the whole summer.

  • 1 pound fresh shrimp, peeled, tail-off
  • 1/3 cup Smoky Chipotle Grilling Sauce

  1. Preheat grill to medium-low.
  2. Combine shrimp and sauce in a medium bowl; toss well to fully coat. Cover and allow to marinate 30 minutes. Meanwhile, soak long skewers in water.
  3. Thread shrimp onto soaked skewers. Brush excess marinade over both sides of shrimp.
  4. Place on grill and cook until just opaque, about 3 minutes per side. Serve immediately.

Notes: Makes about 4 servings.
